Every even numbered year, in March, the County Executive Committees in all 254 Texas Counties hold their individual County Conventions. The Wise County Convention is a opportunity for Wise County Democrats to gather locally, discuss candidates and their policies as well as to select delegates for the State Convention to be held on June 25-27, 2026 in Corpus Christi, Texas,
One of the more important events in this convention is when everyone in attendance is encouraged to create a proposition. A proposition is simply your opinion on a topic that is important to you and that you would like to see included with other individuals propositions as a part of the states platform to be introduced and approved at the State Convention.
Once voted on and approved by the County Convention delegates, these propositions are forwarded to the Texas Democratic Party to be considered by the State Platform Committee and/or the Permanent Resolutions Committee. If there are a number of similar Propositions the committees approve the final language and it becomes an official Resolution.
The final list of resolutions and platform items will be voted on at the state Convention, as well as where delegates meet to conduct party business, elect state party leadership and adopt the party platform. The platform is distributed to the state delegates through the official Texas Democratic Convention website and in convention handbooks.
