3rd Monday Meet and Greet, March 20th was highlighted by a powerful woman!

RECAP:  Our March 20th Wise County Democrat’s social was attended by 34 Democrats (hooray!).  In addition to good food and conversations, we had the privilege of listening to Kim Olson, retired Air Force Colonel, who is running for Texas Agriculture Commissioner in 2018.  Currently, she is influencing the future of sustainable food production through her Community Supported Agriculture at the 4K River Ranch in Mineral Wells, Texas.  Kim also has a Natural-Organic Certification from the Texas Organic Research Center and is a Texas Master Gardener who provides naturally grown and “beyond organics” food, raises bees, and is committed to sustainable EcoAgriculture.

The audience had quite a few questions, which the candidate answered patiently and knowledgeably.  She was genuinely interested in hearing our perspectives, so that she could better understand how to represent us and our interests down in Austin.  Participants also stepped up and “passed the hat” for Kim, presenting her with $400 in personal checks toward her campaign.

P.S.  A special thanks to Kay Parr, Parker County Democratic Party Chair, for being in attendance and helping to make Kim Olson available to our group.
