RECAP: Our February 20th Wise County Democrat’s social was attended by over 30 local Democrats (yes, over 30!). In addition to good food and many conversations, we were lucky to have…
Two local educators, Ellyane Palmentari and Jennifer Allen, spoke with our group about the voucher program being pushed in Texas by Dan Patrick and Greg Abbott. We are fortunate to have such talented, dedicated, and professional educators who are willing to share their time and knowledge with our group.
From The Young Progressives, Clarissa Galindo and Rebeca Galindo, spoke to us about their experiences marching with other marchers in Austin and Ft. Worth. The Galindo sisters always inspire the WCDP with their passion and commitment to the cause of equality.
Jo Johnson, another Wise County educator, shared her activist experience demonstrating outside the Omni Hotel where Kay Granger was attending a fundraiser in lieu of holding a town hall with her constituents.
Cindy Munnerlynn brought paracord so everyone in the group could make survival bracelets for our soldiers. It was fun and challenging, but most important, we will be helping our soldiers in a small way.
To top it all off, the entire group wrote post cards to President Trump with the goal of having our views arrive at his desk on March 15th as part of a nationwide protest. Great work, everyone!
